Hump Day DIY
I really like the idea of this, but I’m not sure how much I would like it in person. Wouldn’t it just look like paper? You know, since it is just paper?

- striped tray ceiling
- paint - colors, locations, slightly lighter green on ceiling than walls
- stripes cut down the height of the room a lot more than if the green went all the way up the slanted ceiling, but less of a unique design that way
- soft, calming feel
- rug
- lighting
- texture - rug, throw, linens, bed, pillows
- bed
- hardwood floors
- ceiling fan
I don’t know how I feel about the rest of the kitchen, but I like the use of beadboard. The standout for me, though, is that painted tree trunk. I absolutely love it. The white keeps it from being too rustic, but it still adds a natural, chic touch to what would otherwise be a fairly bland room.

This bold orange print is made with two very basic office supplies: tape and labels. Such an innovative idea, even if I don’t love the alien-finger-effect of the design itself. Definitely something worth trying next time Michael’s has a canvas sale. (I just missed one this past weekend, arg! Wish I’d seen this last week.)

The more I broke it down, the more I realized… This room is perfection.
- really love this room - so cozy and inviting
- exposed brick!
- the far left wall (the green ladder, the built-in storage, the architectural detailing, the mysterious opening - or reflection? - and the globe in the cubby)
- massive, dominating concrete fireplace
- sofa - color, lines, wood, design
- play on proportions and scale
- light pendants
- rug
- red side table
- windows - size, shape, black frames, no coverings
- high, high, high ceilings
- hardwood floors
- I have to check out the rest of this house… (edit see a tour of the rest of this incredibly cool house here)

This fantastic mirror is made of wood shims and constructed with hot glue. Talk about easy! Starburst mirrors are huge in decor right now and this is an easy way to be trendy without spending too much money.

What a bold use of color! I was not at all surprised to see that this is a Kelly Wearstler room.
- yellow chairs
- blue loveseats
- cream couch
- pillows
- blue/grey walls
- pink chairs
- pairs and multiples of things everywhere - loveseats, chairs (3 pairs), pillows, lamps, artwork
- really unique room
- color, color, color
- artwork
- what in the world is that tree in the background?
I love the matching blue ceiling and floor so much that I’m really considering doing it on my own [future] porch. And it’s such a perfect shade of blue, too.
